Every 2-3 years. Inaugural year 2020. Purpose: This new
international singing competition in Sydney Australia
is to encourage the art of the bel canto style of singing
in honour and memory of Dame Joan Sutherland and
to celebrate Richard Bonynge’s 90th Birthday in 2020.
Richard Bonynge will judge the Final in Sydney. Eligibility:
Open to ALL singers of the world aged 20-30 years as
of April 1, 2020. Entrants must apply by application and
with a video link of 2 contrasting arias of their choice.
Prizes: (1st) AUD $25,000, (2nd) AUD $8000, (3rd) AUD
$5000, 3 remaining finalist prizes AUD $2500 each. Up to
