Sir András Schiff conducts and plays
with the Boston Symphony Orchestra
and Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.
He gives recitals in New York, Toronto,
Vancouver, and Chicago.
Peter Serkin tours Japan with the NHK
Symphony, performs the complete Bach
sonatas with Pamela Frank, and joins the
New York String Orchestra at Carnegie
Hall. He is on faculty at Bard College and
Yale University.
Benjamin Hochman presents the complete Mozart Piano Sonatas at the Israel
Conservatory and Bard College. He appears
as soloist with the Bangor and Greenwich
Symphonies, gives recitals throughout the
country, and releases his debut album as
conductor and soloist on AVIE Records with
the English Chamber Orchestra.
Pianist Zoltán Fejérvári makes debuts at
Washington PAS, LJMS, Howland Chamber Music Circle, Chopin Society, Western Washington University, and Norfolk &
Norwich Music Society. Orchestral performances include San Antonio and Winnipeg
Symphonies.
Pianist Juho Pohjonen debuts as soloist with the Minnesota Orchestra, New
Jersey Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, and Orchestre Symphonique de
Québec. He makes recital debuts at Philadelphia CMS and Steinway Society of
the Bay Area. Chamber music performances include CMSLC and San Francisco
Performances.
Cellist Zlatomir Fung returns to the Ann
Arbor Symphony Orchestra and debuts
with the Asheville and Aiken Symphony
Orchestras, Plymouth Philharmonic, and
Symphony Pro Musica. He gives recitals
throughout the U.S., tours with IMS Prussia
Cove, and performs a joint recital with
fellow Tchaikovsky Competition winners at
Carnegie Hall.
Cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan gives recitals at University of Florida and Aspect
Foundation in NYC. He tours North America
with the Z.E.N. Trio and debuts with the
Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. He gives
the world premiere of Kevork Mourad’s
Armenian Odyssey at the Washington
National Cathedral.
Piatigorsky Chair Ralph Kirshbaum
continues as head of the string department
at USC’s Thornton School of Music. He
serves as judge at the 2020 Menuhin Com-
petition in Richmond and the International
Bach Competition in Leipzig, Germany. He
is artistic director of the 2020 Piatigorsky
International Cello Festival.
Mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano
appears with Pittsburgh, Arizona, and New
Orleans Opera, LA Phil, Cleveland Orchestra, and Chicago Symphony. Recitals are at
Da Camera of Houston and 92Y.
Tenor John Mathew Myers joins the
roster of the Metropolitan Opera for Queen
of Spades and Der Rosenkavalier. Concerts
include the Grant Park Music Festival and
Santa Barbara Symphony.
Soprano Jessica Rivera debuts with the
Minnesota Orchestra and returns to the
Colorado, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, and
Nashville Symphonies. Her third release for
Urtext is due for release in 2020.
Robert Spano embarks on his 19th year
as music director of the Atlanta Symphony
Orchestra and first year as principal guest
conductor of the Fort Worth Symphony
Orchestra. He continues as music director of
the Aspen Music Festival and School.
Markus Stenz makes conducting
debuts with the New Jersey and Detroit
Symphony Orchestras, and returns to
the Indianapolis Symphony. Opera
productions are at Deutche Oper Berlin,
Dutch National Opera, and Bayerische
Staatsoper Munich.
Garry Walker begins his inaugural season
as music director of Opera North and
continues as artistic director of conducting
at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
and chief conductor of the Staatsorchester
Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz.
The American Brass Quintet is ensemble
in residence at Juilliard and the Aspen Music Festival. They give the premiere of a
commission by Nina C. Young at EMPAC
and Shriver Hall and play recitals throughout the country.
Quartetto di Cremona performs at the
Segerstrom Center for the Arts, Wallis
Annenberg Center, Music Toronto, Parlance
Chamber Concerts, Houston da Camera,
Dumbarton Concerts, Boise Chamber
Music Series, American Music Festival,
and Chamber Music Wilmington.
The Danish String Quartet returns to
North America for three tours, including
five concerts at LJMS and Beethoven cycles
at CMSLC and the Schubert Club. They
release PRISM II for ECM in the fall.
The Junction Trio performs with the
Omaha Symphony Orchestra and debuts
at Orange County Philharmonic Society,
Cliburn Concerts, People’s Symphony
Concerts, Chamber Music Albuquerque,
BIG ARTS Sanibel, Corpus Christi
CMS, Tuesday Musical, and Valley
Classical Concerts.
The Orion String Quartet gives per-
formances at CMLSC, Chamber Music
Pittsburgh, Philadelphia CMS, and the
Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The Smetana Trio returns to North
America in the 2020-21 season.
The Zukerman Trio performs with the
IRIS Orchestra and give recitals throughout
the U.S.
