Pianist Gilles Vonsattel maintains a robust performance schedule in the 2018–19
season, including Huntsville Symphony
and the South Carolina Philharmonic,

addition to a piano quintet commission
project with the Escher String Quartet.
A recent awardee of the Verbier Festival Academy’s Yves Paternot Award,
Timothy Chooi is an upcoming young
violinist to watch in the 2018–19 season
with performances across North America.
The Jasper String Quartet has announced
that the Grammy Award-winning violinist
Karen Kim joined the ensemble. Their
2018–19 season is full of recitals across
the U.S., including the Freer Gallery,
Emory and Henry College, Chamber
Music Raleigh, and the Krannert Center at
the University of Illinois with the Jupiter
String Quartet.
Celebrated not least for the invention
of its original genre, the reed quintet
Calefax is known internationally for its
virtuosic playing and extensive repertoire.
Calefax recently released its Hidden
Gems album in 2018, which contains a
colorful collection of works from several
continents spanning many periods of
music history. The highlight of the
Quintet’s 2018–19 season is a U.S. tour
that includes performances at the Frick
Collection, Chamber Music Salt Lake
City, Vilar Center, and Chamber Music
San Francisco.
The innovative Aeolus Quartet has recently welcomed its newest member, violist Caitlyn Lynch. The Quartet’s 2018–
19 season is full of engaging programs
across the U.S. at venues such as Merkin
Hall, the Freer Gallery for a special presentation with dancers from Mark Morris
Dance Company, Miami University Oxford, residency with ProMusica Joplin,
and the Detroit Chamber Music Society.
Soprano Karina Gauvin continues to
thrill audiences in both North America and
Europe as soloist. In the 2018–19 season,
Karina will be performing across the U.S.
and Canada with the St. Louis Symphony
in Handel’s Messiah, Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal in Mahler’s Symphony
No. 4, and with the National Arts Centre
Orchestra in Beethoven’s Symphony No.
9. Karina will also be touring throughout
Europe and will be performing in Cav-ali’s La Calisto at the legendary Teatro
Real, Madrid.
The versatile mezzo-soprano Abigail
Nims makes solo appearances in Handel’s
Messiah with the Phoenix Symphony
Orchestra, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9
with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra
of Columbus, and is featured in Missy
Mazzoli’s newly commissioned opera,
Proving Up, with Opera Omaha.
Soprano Tracy Dahl will perform around
Canada in the 2018–19 season including
solo appearances with the Winnipeg and
Regina Symphony Orchestras as well
as her return to the Canadian Opera
